Ping Golf Clubs were created out of necessity. It is obvious that you can't play golf without a golf club and if your club isn't the "perfect" one, no matter how much you practice, you're going to have issues getting a successful hit. It just makes sense to examine your clubs before each game.
In the early days of golf, there were only a few companies who offered golf equipment. And not always were they of a high quality. Many products and services often have unique, unusual and quirky beginnings and the beginning of Ping golf clubs is no different. These clubs were created by Karsten Solheim but not to make money, but to improve his game.
Mr. Solheim was frustrated with his own golf equipment and that even with practice he had a difficult time hitting the ball. He figured the only way that he was going to improve his game was to improve his clubs; so he began designing his own. The year was 1959 when one of Mr. Solheim's designs was a success. These designs had evolved into the 1A design.
The name Ping golf clubs was also created out of a unique and quirky situation but the "Aha!" moment just made sense. When the club was hitting a ball on the green, it made a pinging sound. Hence the name "Ping" golf clubs was formed.
Today, Karsten Manufacturing Corporation is based in Phoenix, Arizona and has over 400 registered patents for the Ping golf clubs. Each design is created based on the original concept in which the designs are innovative and meets the company's high standards. As you can imagine, there are numerous products that are designed and improved on each year.
One particular design which was granted a patent revolutionized Mr. Solheim's original creations and other clubs is that of the Heel-toe weighting (type of a Ping club) in 1962. Another successful turn of evolution was in 1969 when the Perimeter-weighted, investment cast iron was added to the family of Ping golf club clubs. The purpose of this club increases the inertia of the swing; however, if there is not a square hit to the ball the club is forgiving.
Golf is a precise game; it takes thought and proper movements for certain results to be obtained. This is the reason the K Series irons were introduced to the Karsten Manufacturing line. Although the technology is old, the lost-wax process is excellent at creating precise and consistency in each club.
From the moment you begin your swing until when your body stops moving, you use many muscles that work together and give you that perfect swinging motion. Each shot can provide a certain amount of vibrations which affects various parts of the golfer's body. To reduce and eliminate this vibration, Ping golf clubs have a patented "Cushion Selective Filtering Insert". This insert disburses the unwanted vibration that can be created when the ball is hit.
Have you ever lost a golf club? A benefit to have a Ping club is that each one is assigned a serial number. This number represents everything about the club from the color to the exact weight. If you were to unfortunately lose a Ping club, with the serial number, Karsten Manufacturing can build you a new one that is identical to the one you lost.
Golfing is an art; it is a sport that can be very challenging and relaxing at the same time. The sport takes strategy and precision movements in order to play a successful game. Using equipment that offers you better control and improves your game is a must. With continuous innovative designs, Ping golf clubs are the ones to have in your bag.
